Hi,
I have a 97 cavalier that was making grinding noise when turning left during acceleration, then the engine went and I had it replaced. Now it is making that noise during any acceleration? No noise without acceleration. Also if sitting on a incline and I put it in park it makes the noise.
What is going on?

 

could be the a/c bearing...it happened to my sunfire...which the cavi's and sunfires are practically the same car...luckily i have a sunroof and dont need the a/c ..so i just did away with it.

 

I have a 99 cavlier z24 and it did that to me too. I was hearing a grinding noise when making left turns. After about 3 months, my car breaks down, and stopped acceplerating, while making that grinding noise in the front center. Turned out to be my left driveaxel. and i had to have it replaced for like $70. My car runs fine now, and the grinding stopped. Hope this helps.
