Default Headlight problem

I have a '97 2.2L auto. If it is cold out the headlights do not want to turn on right away. The running lights and high beams work fine, but the low beams do not turn on for a while. After idling for 10-15 min or running the car on the highway they finally come on. I have heard about a wire corrosion problem but cannot find any threads on this. Can someone please help me or direct me somewhere this is explained? Thanks in advance.

If its below freezing, you likely have condensation in the headlight relay and its freezing the relay.

It never hurts to check your grounds and even the positive connections, any connection has a possibility for corrosion which can cause a voltage drop.

Easiest way to check the relay would be to take it out when this problem would occur and just jumper it. I think they are in front of the radiator attached the front bumper, don't quote me on that though.
