Manual Transmission Shift Cable Alignment
Yo!
I have a 2003 Chevy Cavalier LS manual transmission. I removed the motor because the clutch went out, and I did a engine refresh while I had the motor out. Got a new clutch and flywheel on there, and plopped the motor back into the car. I have most of everything hooked up, clutch bled and all, but my shift cables are not lining up with the linkage on the transmission. I do not remember how I took it off, and thats one of the only things I did not take a picture of.
I can get the shift cables into their mounts on the transmission, and I can get them to press onto the ***** on the shift linkage, but when I sit in the car, the shifter can only move forward and backward and is stuck in the first/second gear position. I can’t find any info on this, so I am looking for help here.
On the mount for the shift cables on the transmission, the black (forward and backward when moving the shifter) cable is on the bottom clip, and the white cable (left and right when moving the shifter). I am unsure if this is right either.
Thanks.
