Default Won't start

I have a Chevy 2002 Cavalier with new battery. Suddenly, and for some unknown reason, the car won't start. When I turn the key in the ignition, the lights on the dash all come on (with the clicking sound when I open the door). But, just "dead". Battery is very strong (already tested). I was told that the security system is the culprit . . . that somehow it is turning the complete system off, including the ability to start the car. If this is the case, does anyone have a clue as to how I can disable the security system???

Google, here's the first hit (search also for disabling):

96-00 turn key to "RUN" without opening the door or touching anything good idea to just roll down the window and do this by reaching in with the door shut incase you get bored and want to walk away leave it sit for 10 mins turn key off for 5 sec car should start for 01-05 this procedure might neet to be done (3xs) (key on 10 mins off 5 sec on 10 mins off 5 sec on 10 mins off5 sec) the system should reset now
