78 C30 manual transmission HELP
So I've got my kids old farm truck in the shop pulling it down for a clutch....
Normally on a top loading transmission I'd unbolt the top plate to remove the shifter and pieces to allow transmission to move back and out. On this transmission that's not an option. I do have a round *** cast into the case what looks like a pin that runs through the shifter. But the pin doesn't move with a drift.
So I thought that maybe a lock pin that pushes in from both sides and releases the shifter but doesn't seem to be want to .move.
Looked to see if the shift arm unscrew, and it doesn't seem to do that.
So I admit that after 50 years of turning wrenches I can't see how to pull the lever out... so then lower the transmission and slide it back..
Someone have a thought. Of course I'm hot and tired, and looking for some insite.
