Help identifying engine and tranny

looks like a 400 trans , 350 v8 with the dip stick on the drivers side .

looks like a mid 70s drive train .

shift seal leak on trans

Thanks! How do I fix that leak, just tighten it a little, torque it, or is there a gasket/o-ring?

The part number below is the installer and remover . You order a shift shaft seal ,buy 2-3 . The edge of the shaft is sharp and can tear the seal. You can tape the end of the shaft before install. Your rear seal is leaking a bit , you might do a seal too if the bushing is not wore out . If truck sits up for a while transmission will leak. Nappa Auto PartsBK 7769250PRODUCT LINE :Balkamp

You can also look at the VIN number if the truck hasn't been altered. I was just reading this page on usa1 industries 1981-1987 chevy truck vin decoder
