Cobalt This sporty compact was faced with the difficult job of replacing the popular Cavalier, but whether the base model, or the supercharged SS is chosen, is has made for a great replacement.

Default Check engine light..

Hello:

I hope someone can answer my question. My check engine light came on a few weeks ago. The DIC menu did not read for coolant temperature (it just had dashes). The coolant temperature came back on and the light went off. I took the car to Advance Auto, and their check came back as something with coolant or thermostat. The light came on again last night with the same dashes in the coolant temperature reading. The coolant temperature is now reading numbers, but the light is still on. I have done all of the checks (gas cap, coolant level) in the manual. I did recently get gas both times at a station different than I usually use, but the light has not been on each time I've been there. Any ideas about what could be happening? If you have any recommendations, I would really appreciate it. Thanks!!

I'm sorry you are experiencing this issue with your Cobalt vehicle. It may be related to the thermostat. I recommend having the vehicle inspected by a certified technician for an official diagnosis to be on the safe side.

Please keep us posted.
