Cobalt This sporty compact was faced with the difficult job of replacing the popular Cavalier, but whether the base model, or the supercharged SS is chosen, is has made for a great replacement.

Start with the basics first.

check the fuses,

under fuse block

IP IGN fuse (20amp)
Crank fuse (30amp)

then check the crank relay.

next look at grounds.

Check ground 101 (g101) - it is behind the left headlamp. Make sure it isn’t corroded, or broken.

then check ground 105 & 103 (g105, g103)
105 is bolted in the front of the engine/transmission.
103 is followed from that to the left lower front of engine.

there is also a ground under the front drivers seat that I’ve seen corrode bad. It is a main ground for the BCM.

If if they all look good, take a look at the Body control module (BCM)

they are a big issue on these cars, give the BCM a good smack and they try restarting the car, usually it will fire up, if the BCM is the problem.

Hope me this helps someone.
