Engine oil pressure control selenoid
My 2016 2.5L gasoline engine oil pressure solenoid has failed at a cost of $835.00 ($70 part/$760 labor). This was not covered under the Powertrain warranty because GM states it is not part of the engine. WRONG!!
The technician at this small dealership states he is seeing A LOT of these come through on the 2.5L and interestingly, the component is covered if engine was a diesel.
GM (lack of) customer care hot line refused to acknowledge issue and declined to cover the part or labor.
I WAS a life long GM owner (Cadillac to Chevy) and will NEVER purchase a GM ever again and am currently divesting my stock portfolio of my GM stock.
I STRONGLY suggest current owners be aware of this component AND any interested in a small truck to buy a Toyota or other reliable vehicle.
