I have a 2006 Chevy Colorado Crew Cab Z71 and have had no problems what so ever out of it! Have noticed poor engine power and weak transmission! I am not use to a mid size truck I traded my 98 Silverado w/350 for my Colorado and its a big change. What should i do to increase the power of my coloardo? What would some good changes to increase power to my truck any help would be greatly much appreciated !

Power adders are the samefor pretty much all vehicles. Increased flow will up your HP. i.e. intake/forced induction, exhaust (mufflers like flowmaster, catbacks, or full exhaust). Or you could go w/ NO2. I'd recomend intake, like Volant or K&N fipk, exhaust, like flowmaster or SLP, and a tuner or "chip" like a superchips programmer. Somebody also posted a supercharger link for the Colorado, if you got $5k.

Thanks thats what I had in mind just wanted to know any specials that work perticually well with the colorado. I hope to go with a K&N Aircharger kit and exhaust but I dont want my exhaust loud. Also I wondered about the high flow cats? If I install one on my Colorado you think codes are going to come up? And on the performance chips is there a specific one that work well with the Colorado's and were would be a cheap place to find one?

I PUT A K&N 63 SERIES INTAKE AND A THROTTLE BODY SPACER AND RAN DUAL EXHAUST WITH A HIGH FLOW CATALITIC CONVERTER AND IT IS A COMPLETE CHANGE IN POWER! I WOULD SAY EVERYONE SHOULD DO IT THAT OWNS A COLORADO THE TRANSMISSION NEVER HAS PROBLEMS SHIFTING IN AND OUT ITS TOWING CAPABILITIES WENT WAY UP AND SOUND TOTALLY AWSOME WHEN YOU PUNCH IT! THE INTAKE UNDER THE HOOD MAKES THE TRUCK SOUND CRAZY AGREASSIVE AND MEAN AS HELL! ALL I WANT TO DO TO THIS TRUCK NOW IS GET A POWER PROGRAMMER FOR IT AND IT WILL HAVE POWER LIKE A FULL SIZE TRUCK BUT GET MPG'S LIKE A MIDSIZE! JUST PUT IT IN SO DONT REALLY KNOW THE DIFFERENCE ON MPG'S YET BUT STANDBY AND KEEP EYE OUT ON THIS REPLY AND I WILL GET BACK WITH YALL WHEN I KNOW WHAT I AM GETTING! KEEP IT REAL

I have the 3.5 I5 in mine and the throttle body spacer really helped with torque of my colorado. The K&N Charger kit helped the speed and HP of the truck. But I am still having problems with bad gas mileage and if i am on the interstate with the cruise on it wants to shift in and out of overdrive like crazy. I have about 2 in of lift with 18in wheels and a little bigger than stock BFG TKO's but i dont know how to get this trucks size to equal with torque. I want to put a chip in and my best friend who is a ASE Mechanic at a Ford dealership told me i needed to look for a performance module that i can adjust tire size and things where the computer will recongnize that it isnt stock anymore and will make adjustments where needed. I think Superchip has a programmer for Silverados but i cant find a programmer for Colorados just performace chips.
