2011 Cruze,bad choice for me!
Can't recall a lexus going up in smoke! The 2012's may be a bit better-but the 11's are a pile of crap-which GM chooses to ignore. On top of all the rest-sounds like I just missed having a fire when the "Goodwrench" expert spilled oil all over when oil changed! Had huge plumes of smoke coming from under hood-when I went back they didn't even check for damage.(Still wonder if it had something to do with next problem-spraying oil all over under hood) Congratulations,GM-you've lost this loyal customer...and at least $250,000 in new vehicles this year in immediate family.(2 crew cabs,2 top of line SUVs,a Prius, and a small car.)
Isn't it sad how GM can pay for all these "customer service" reps in every forum on the internet that deals with the Cruze, yet CAN'T/WON'T help the people with the 2011 Cruzes with the crappy shifting transmissions! I have NEVER read of ANYONE with the 2011 transmission that had their shifting fixed with or without the help of all these GM reps here. That's because there is NO fix! The fix is get rid of the car ASAP or TRY and get GM to do a buyback! The reps main purpose is to just help the helpless who don't know what to do or who to contact. These reps give people FALSE hope that their problem will be resolved. From what I can gather, all they do is get your info and contact your dealer and have them touch base with you. I have yet to hear of people with the antifreeze smell OR the transmission problem come to a happy ending! I include myself in there. Got rid of my Cruze after 2 years and 13,000 miles on Jan. 31 and leased a 2013 Buick Verano Turbo. I like GM cars, but I do NOT like how GM is handling the problems with the cars! I CANNOT blame the dealers because they can ONLY do what GM tells them to do and what GM pays them to do as far as warranty work! What good is having a wondeful transmission warranty when they won't fix it!
