Default After market head unit?

The head unit on the new Cruze looks very unique and after market unfriendly. Does anyone here know if this is actually the case? The stock one is pretty weak, especially on the Eco trim.

I couldn't imagine how you would be able to do that... Great thing about a new car is the only way to find it out is to try it
