Default 2007 Chevy equinox window problem

I have a 2007 Chevy equinox and recently the driver side window has stopped working. The window motor works and runs but when I went to inspect the window, it didn’t stick to the lift that raises and descends the window.

You'll need to take the door panel off to inspect things. It sounds like the window may have started binding up in the guides and the increased resistance caused the window pane to disconnect itself from the regulator. There is a slim chance the window just separated from the regulator, but in my experience I've found that most of the time the plastic retainer that holds the window pane to the regulator breaks which requires replacing the whole regulator assembly to repair. Fortunately, the regulator design in the Equinox is simple and doesn't fail often, but is also fairly inexpensive and easy to replace. The hardest part is removing the foam weather guard from the door. As long as you are careful you should have no trouble pulling it off though.

The regulators are the same for all 2005-2009 Chevrolet Equinox, 2006-2009 Pontiac Torrent, and 2007-2009 Suzuki XL-7.

It's a good idea to occasionally squirt some silicone spray in the rubber window channels/guides at the front & rear of each door to keep things moving freely. I try to do this once a year. While you're at it, it's also good practice to clean all the door seals and wipe them down with silicone spray to keep them from cracking and sealing tightly.
