Worlds dumbest question, but is the Onstar mic the round one above the drivers head? Is the Bluetooth one located next to the dome lights?

Onstar and Bluetooth mic are the same. They have to share. and it is the one near the dome lights.
The microphone looking thing above your head is actually a small fan that draws in air over a temp sensor for your auto HVAC

Thanks so much for the info. I tried covering things up, talking close etc, but could not figure that out to a definite conclusion. I had read somewhere about onstar having its own mic, but that was for something else I guess.

the bluetooth works through the onstar module. Its actually an integral part of the module with the only servicable part being the antenna

Are you a clown? That is not a FAN. That is a microphone above the driver's head in the headliner.
