Default What is your experience with the 4 Cyl Equinox?

I plan to trade in my Equnox 2006 for another car due to the so many problems I have experinced with my car. The only dealer who can gave me more money for the Equinox is an authorized GM Dealer near my home. I saw and tested the 4 cyl Equnox 2012. What have been the experience with the 4 cyl Equiox released on 2010. Do you think will worth it if I trade my 2006 for 2012 model or I will be acquiring another lemon?

I think the 2.4L Equinox comes the 6T45 transaxle whereas the 3.0L comes with the beefier 6T70. 6T45 is produced by GM Daewoo of South Korea and 6T70, by GM plant in Warren, Michigan. I've been disappointed by Daewoo for years. Needless, I think 6T45 is crap. Daewoo should and could do better but I think it's a corporate culture thing. Look at how well Hyundai is doing.

We have had a 2010 2LT 4 cyl FWD 'Nox in our fleet(!) since December of 2009 and have had no complaints. We have done several summer trips with luggage and could not complain about the performance. The car/truck has treated us well and we would do it again.
Only one warranty claim: an issue with OnStar connecting via Bluetooth to the cell phone and that was resolved same day.

the new equinox is a complete redesign. the engine is solid. Overall, a much better vehicle than the old equinox.

I have the 2012 I4 FWD, very happy with my choice. MPG's have been 29-33. Have 4600 miles on it now, no issues to report. I get 600 miles per tank, refills are cheap since I've been driving a 3500 HD Diesel DRW for the last 14 yrs.

Just purchased a 2005 equinox from Servco and have problems already. The abs and tc lights are on most of the time and the brakes get very hard and them release causing a squelling of the tires immediately and then makes some more crackling noise. Then the car runs normally except the lights are on. Dealer says its my problem as I purchaed care , "as is". They had paid $220.00 to have that fixed but it wasn't. I paid $270. and now have turned the car over to Chevereolet to be fixed at a cost of 700. to 800. Anyone had problems with their abs and tc.

Wheel bearings (which contain the wheel speed sensors) and the wss wiring are common problems.

We purchased a 2012 Equinox AWD last Sept. and no problems at all. The 4cyl seems to have plenty of power and when compaired to the 6 cyl there wasnt that much Difference in power But much better MPG. We have a little over 11k on it and its been great. I would do it again in a Heartbeat.
