Default 2005 ABS ligt comes on brakes pulsate

I had my Chevy equinox since 2005. The last year it has given me problems with my ABS light and brake pulsates. Took it to the dealer once cost me 196.00 for the computer to tell them what was wrong. Left it there to have the problem fixed. Problem not fixed. $600.00 later and still have the same problem. You would think that the computer would know best. NOT. Change the front hubs and that lasted for 3 months. same problem again.
Read about the pigtail wires or wiring harness needs to be changed. I will try that next and see. Any other information out there would really help.

I am not sure what the diagnostic trouble code was, but will find out.

would be nice if it worked that way. the fault code only tells the mechanic what system the fault has set in. the mechanic must then determine if the fault is in the component, wiring or computer module.

sounds like your getting a false abs activation. this occurs when one or more of the individual wheel speed sensors signals drop out. this usually occurs at slow speeds, as that is when the signal is weakest. Its a inherent design flaw of passive wheel speed sensors and that is why industry is now using active wheel speed sensors.

the technician must determine which signal is falling out....it starts with scanning for an abs code if set. if none are set, the technician must record the event with a scan tool and plot out the recorded data in line graph format....then you can see which wheel the drop out is coming from.

Great input - this clearly explains what I have observed (but did not understand) on my intermittent 'ABS' fault indication.
