I have a 2006 Chevy Equinox and it will start to overheat slightly when in idle. In addition the Heater blows cold air at idle and I have to rev the engine just to get the heat to start working on a cold morning. The dealership topped off the coolant but that did not affect anything. Any help would be appreciated.

 

keep an eye on the coolant the dealer did a thermostat on ours and while refilling windshield wash noticed the canister was empty again refilled with antifreeze so far so good I've had this problem of losing some of the antifreeze in my 06 diesel a few times seems to be an air pocket after a couple refills it has been ok but keep an eye out for it could be something worse leaky heater core floor inside should be wet or possibly head gasket
