2007 Equinox Gas leak
Ok I’m doing this for my godmother she owns the car and keeps complaining about a gas smell. I seen that the was coming from on top of the gas tank which means it’s the pump. I seen where people are getting it fix for free but no official recall has been made. So how can she get hers fix from the dealership without any changes to her. It’s a 2007 Equinox lS

It should since it's applicable to 2007-2009 Equinox. A dealership's service department can confirm this for you if you call and give them your VIN. The special coverage campaign number (12191) will appear in the warranty section when they run a vehicle history check. The coverage is unlimited age & unlimited miles when I check my VIN (I work at a dealership so I have access to the GM site). Yours will likely be the same. We had this fix done to our Equinox in September 2013, and haven't had the problem come back since then.

I've got the same issue, strong gas smell from the rear of the car, is it likely the same issue as the 2007-2009's? I'm getting a P0455 service code, so I changed the solenoid on the charcoal box but it didn't help. I thought maybe a hose on top of the fuel tank but I cant see the top.
Thanks!
Thanks!
Thanks Ruley, for the smoke test, since the smell seems to be under the car and possibly near the rear, can I pump the smoke into the gas tank at the gas cap?
