Default Adaptive Cruise Control Issues

A couple times in my 2019 Equinox Premier AWD I've had the cruise control shut down with the message "Adaptive Cruise Control Temporarily Not Available" and being unable to engage it again for a while. It started a week or so ago while driving in a bad rain storm. At first I though it was just all the mist and rain causing the sensors not being able to see. However driving on Saturday on a sunny day it kept occuring. But on the reverse drive Sunday (again a sunny day) I was able to drive the whole 100 miles with the ACC working fine.

I wonder if moisture got into something (the sensors) and did not dry out until yesterday? Anyone else heard of a similar issue? I guess if it happens again I will schedule a service appointment.....

I don't have adaptive cruise control on my 2015 Chevy Malibu, but in my opinion, and experiences, I would buy a tube of dielectric grease, pull all the connectors under the hood, check for corrosion, and if none, apply the dielectric grease into any and all connections there. It basically water-proofs the electronics of your Chevy, and keeps
any water out of your connections.

Back when I owned a Jeep CJ-5, I did the same, and watched as many Jeeps could not make a deep water crossing like I could do. i did the same for all of my dirt-racing bikes, as it allowed for deep water crossing, which were common during a race.

Default 2019 Equinox Adaptive Cruise Control disengagin

I’ve had the exact same issue just happened to me today in my 2019 equinox premier with 17,000 miles on it. I was driving on the interstate going 60 mph with adaptive cruise control set at 60 when suddenly an error message appeared, “adaptive, cruise control, disengaged”, the car shook really hard and slowed down and it scared me to death. I was wondering if it was an electrical problem because my display sometimes acts up as well, either going dim or going black. Does anyone know what the issue is? I’m afraid after reading all of the similar stories on the Internet related to speed control/cruise control issues on the 2019, that if I take it to the dealer, they won’t find the problem with it.
