Default 2014 2.4l Equinox Trans Fluid Change

Does anyone have procedure to change transmission fluid and check trans fluid level on 2014 2.4l equinox? Recommendation on trans fluid brand (I know its Dextron VI). Thanks much

Just get the GM Dexron VI. I don't think it's that much more expensive.

How many miles on your vehicle? Does your transmission have a pan? A dipstick tube?

About 70k miles, no pan or dipstick. Just a drain plug and a plug on the side that is used to check fluid level.

it could be one of those transmission with a permanent metal mesh screen. The filter should be fine at 70k. You manual will state if a filter needs to be changed. If not just drain and fill.

You have the 6T45 transmission. It's just a more heavy-duty model than the 6T40 in my Bu'. The filter can't be changed on either one as its
up in the transmission. You'll drain out about 4.5 quarts of fluid with the drain plug. Then you add the new fluid though the vent cap on top of the transmission. It will be black or red colored but still the same.

Like MMJ said, use Dexron VI synthetic fluid to refill. I use Valvoline, but as long as its Dex VI, you are good to go. I would recommend 25,000 mile
changes since the filter cannot be replaced, but that's just my own notion, but better than 4K for a new one.
