Default No Outside Temperature Reading

I have a Chevy Equinox 2015 and the inside display is not reading at all for the outside sensor. It is also fluctuating from time to time hot air and cold air.

Took it to the Grieco Chevrolet in Lauderhill FL and they said they fixed it but did not. It is still doing the same thing.

I am thinking it might be an issue in the wiring but not sure. Can someone help?

Also the I got the code B0158 and B0233.

A good dealership should guarantee their work. Take it back

I am going to take it back but it doesn't seem like the mechanics there know what they are talking about. They reprogrammed my HVAC computer and charged me $299 to do so. The reading it showed said "B0158-05 Outside Air Temperature Sensor Circuit Short or Open". I will be back there Monday to talk to the manager.

Their techs are terrible. Clearly, there is an issue with the ambient air temp sensor or wiring. The sensor is probably bad, but the wiring should always be inspected and tested first - especially at a dealership when their service information tells them exactly how to test the circuits. This could affect A/C operation. More specifically, the A/C might not turn on if the ambient air temp signal is inaccurate or erratic.

unplug the connector at the sensor...this should set a open or circuit high dtc. jumping the pins (2 wire circuit, 5volt ref to signal for a 3 wire circuit)together should set the circuit low code...this confirms the wiring and pcm are good...replace the sensor. if you can't get both circuit high and low codes their is a wiring or pcm problem.
