So go and look. GM product brochures are available on the internet and they list all the options.

Accessory dealers (like Crutchfield) usually offer you the hardware you need to install a particular head unit in a particular vehicle. I've also seen install kits sold separately at my local auto part dealer.

well slightly irritated, was starting to get ready to head out, called the dealer where the afore mentioned van is located and called to make sure they still had it, they did, so I left and with my truck in hand (so to say) got to the NY/CT border and got a call that the van has sold so yea, it is gone, so slightly annoyed I missed out on it but oh well, the search continues I guess....I am thinking of looking for a 2008 or newer van, I am hoping I perhaps can find one closer to me.

i am changing my search to 2008+ vans as they are showing up about the same price as the 2005 one so…

Would I be better looking at the Express 2500 or a 1500? I know the differences are just towing capacity, and some other little things like number of lugs, ect or is this more a "personal preference" type thing?

Hi, I have 2008 Chevy Express 1500 Cargo, a half-ton with a 4.3 V6. It has a much softer suspension compared to a 2500, therefore it is a more comfortable ride. A 2500 will be noticeably stiffer but obviously can carry more weight.

It's not just towing capacity. It's payload capacity
1500 = 1/2 ton
2500 = 3/4 ton
3500 = 1 ton

The chassis has to be different for each to accommodate the capacity. The suspension, steering, wheel hubs, maybe even the frame. The drivetrain has to be capable as well. You have different transmissions, axles, shafts, bearings, etc. The ride heights are different. Different engine/transmission configurations. AWD is only available on 1500's. The differences are extensive and so are prices. Definitely not personal preference. Did you look at any of the GM literature like I suggested?

Yes, I am going through it and thats kind of where the question came from....I am currently driving an F250 and have driven the 1500 Expresses before for work and actually have been liking them a lot so yea that is why I started looking at them, and cracked open the literature and hey more questions are a commin around the corner....
