2006 Chevy Express 2500 200,000 miles.
Awhile back I started to get an intermittent p1810 and it would start shifting rough. I shut it off for about 5 minutes and then it will shift out of park but won’t engage. If I unhook the battery it goes back to working great and shifting great.
It stopped happening all together for about 3,00-4,000 miles. Now it’s doing it again.
im thinking of replacing the ignition switch and seeing if that works as it seems like it must be a electric issue. If there was something broken in the transmission it would always be broken. Any ideas?

Post your engine please.
not neccessarily. I think it's a transmission problem. Especially with your miles
Is there enough fluid in the trans?
