Default 1989 G20 rv: reliable?leaks+rear pass belt

Hi, I'm a new member..happy to be in this forum!
I'm about to buy a 1989 Chevy G20 rv. I was wondering if anybody could help with this:
1) is it a reliable van?
2) how many back passengers can I carry? I didn't see the passenger belts on the back seat (the one that becomes a bed)
3) the actual owner fixed some water leaks with silicon. has anybody experienced leaks?

thank you very much, any input is really appreciated!

Default have fun be safe!

I bought an 88 r20 burb last year and it has been a ton of fun- a super solid truck, do you have a 350?... if so; parts are easy to come buy and usually cheap.
most {Chevy trucks} from that era already have the mounting brackets for belts ( you may have to pop a few panels) whether they have existing belts or not... so check for 3-4" plates with threaded holes that are welded on to the frame of either the truck bed or underneath the seat frame. If there aren't any- you can buy after market ones, i've seen both weld and bolt-on models (+/-$50)
I am doing a 3-point conversion on my 88' burb and scored a set of 4 GM belts and buckles for $30 from the junkyard w/hardware.
f.y.i.
you will most likely need star wrenches to work on it.

To answer the person it can carry question, check with your local dmv or government agency. In my experience the law is every seat belt must be used but there is no law except for the GVW to account for max passengers. Ie 5 people can sit on the floor at the back, but max your insurance to cover you if you get in a wreck.
Of course laws change and are diff from area to area.

hey that's a pretty nice looking Van, I'd say you would be safe carrying 3 on that bench seat, In California if it's registered as an RV you ride in the rear with no belts and you can even drink.
