2001 Chevy 3500 crank no start issue
I know there are many articles around with passlock issues but nothing seemed to fit my case.... After driving home one day. I get home shut off the van and next morning try to start it and had crank but no start
Could not hear fuel line priming so I jumped the relay and was able to hear it prime... However no fuel was in the lines? (Come back to this later as it seems not to be the root issue since with relay in it wasn't priming at all)
I did not check spark as I didn't have a tool to safely attempt this but given the fuel pump not turning on it pointed me to passlock issue... Now I did check the codes and nothing came up aside from low voltages faults because my battery died after trying to start it so much.
The question I have though is with key on engine off. The security light comes on for a few seconds and goes off. So it recognizes the key if I'm not mistaken. However when I try to crank the security light comes on and stays solid until I stop cranking then it goes off again. I'm not sure what that could mean? I read about to flashing or it just staying on the moment key is turned. I did attempt the relearn procedure but since the light doesn't stay on for more than a few seconds I can't tell if that was at all effective. I also attempted KOEO then pulling the key out while on the one state and reinserting the key then turning ignition off and back on to start and that also didn't work.
Now with the fuel not pressuring when I jumped the pump i am assuming that is just my lack of fuel in the tank but until I can test for spark I won't be able to tell if it's really the passlock or not because passlock cuts spark and fuel I believe? Anyways
Fuel pump isn't priming but will prime if jumped. Security light only stays on when attempting to start the car but on initial ignition on it goes off after the chimes are done. No DTC after resetting. Car ran perfectly fine the night prior to this. I'm just at a loss on what to do given there was no DTC
