95 G30 fuel pump issues
95 G30 the fuel pump quit without warning a few weeks ago. It has a test connector next to the relay that you can put voltage on to run the pump. Nothing.
I replaced the pump and the new pump seemed to work fine for a couple of hundred miles.
After sitting a few days the new pump wouldn't run. I jumped power to the test connector and after connecting/disconnecting power a few times it started up and ran fine for 3 or 4 stops and starts and maybe 20 miles.
I let it sit for about a week until today waiting for time to replace the pump again.
Well guess what? It started right up and runs fine. Put it on the lift and wiggled the wires around but it still runs. It has never quit while running only refuses to start after sitting at least overnight so far.
Not much fun to replace the pump but I don't want to replace it unless that is the problem. The only other issue I can think of is the wiring between the relay and the pump.
I would like to check the grounds but the GM service manual is wrong about where they are. It lists the fuel pump ground as being next to the thermostat in one place and on the rear of the right head in another place. Both are wrong. It also lists a ground junction next to the fuel pump relay. Also wrong. Suggestion?
Thanks!
