i just converted my 2013 AWD express into a 4X4 van ....i replaced the transfer case....now i can switch from 2wd to 4wd and 4wd low.......just need to add diff lockers and ill be unstoppable....

 

What transfer case did you have and what did you switch to?

i had the standard awd transfer case that came with the van.....i changed to a np241c drivers side drop 27 spline input.....you can get them out of an 1988-1994 k1500 suburban....it is manual shift and electric speedo....just needed to change the plug on the speedo sender wire and extend the front drive shaft 2"...you have to use the front drive shaft out of the donor vehicle because the front output is a bell flange and the original shaft if a slip yolk... there is an awesome right up on it at the expedition portal forums.........

I wonder why the original front output is a slip yoke. The front differential is rigidly mounted so you wouldn't expect any movement.

The factory unit is a Borg Warner 44-73.

 

I am asking because I were took the information from, the owners of the vans where not exactly sure. I am always looking to verify and correct what I have stated. I'd feel like a fool if I had something on my site that mis-directed people. I'd feel like a fool unless I have been lazy and haven't gone back to knowingly correct something.

im not sure why the stock AWD transfer case has a slip yolk.......even the donor shaft has a slip shaft...i guess they provide a little wiggle room for flex.....because ANY flex in the drive train would transfer directly into the trans fer case gears and cause damage.....

 

Nope. No "NP5". In fact, I can't find any AWD related RPO code on my door sticker. Except maybe this:
YD3: AXLE FRONT - (BASE EQUIP) FOR SCHEDULING GVW PLATE


However, the model number at the top of the sticker (TH13406) indicates the AWD chassis. (G = RWD, H = AWD). The transport Canada sticker also has H13406.

 

H matches what I learned elsewhere. I see NP5 on my other vans door sticker, I knew it wasn't that a moment ago. YD3 might make sense. I'd have to look at mine again.

Nope. I have the same code. I have a sheet here with all the RPO's, but I think it is from after 2013/2014. Whatever the last year was for the H1500. It's a 187 pages long. I don't want to host it and I don't know how to post it. I'll look at it at some point.
