YES.... I know several people that do not pay for cable tv.
their choice but they bought this item off of Ebay.. just
as STAN said.. the Fire Stick is usually JAIL BREAKED..
thats a term this younger generation uses ....
MY son is 28yrs old... he is all into this stuff that
he can do and get ( without ) actually paying
for a subscription.. hell this thing allows a person to
watch movies.. before they even hit the theatrs... ( seriously )...
but back to my point.. that was just a colation between the two things
YES I agree.. when I get mine in I will be interested in checking it
out to see ( What I dont get )... but here is another question..
If your dont know what your suppose to have.. then how can
you miss what you dont have ?
STAN
by testing on that web site. tells him what he doesnt have ?
and he is know questioning what else doesnt he have ?
IF mine is a knock off.. and when I check it with the site...
IT will be returned ... once I started reading your posts
I Emailed that seller of mine.. I am interested to know if I get a
reply back.

It could mean the difference between the ability to read a certain feature or not. For example, My '16 has TPMS. It would be nice to access it through a tablet, as opposed to scrolling through the trip computer(which uses the odometer display).

Good morning, you know it will be a knockoff, and the version will probably be v1.3. The only place I've found to get the real thing is ELM-327.EU, the company in Romania, elm327, elm 327, obd2 bluetooth, elm327 bluetooth, original elm327, original elm electronics, original elm 327. The price is $57.80, plus either $23.00 shipping with a tracking number, or $4 shipping without a tracking number, shipped to Ohio. They use the actual v2.2 ELM chip, from ELM in Canada. We all get what we pay for, how a $8 scanner can do the same as a $60, I don't know, but I'm guessing it can't. That being said, do I want to spend $60-$85 for something that I would use rarely, maybe.

I'm sure it will do like Artie1's, but do you want to trust a clone, a out of date, untested IC board clone, will it have the low power feature, and recent upgrades, probably not? But $60-$85 is a lot of money compared to a claimed "same IC (integrated circuit)" for $8.

From what I have seen on this forum Artie1 is very knowledgeable, and has a beautiful rig with the 488ci motor, I wonder what his scanner ID's at? Maybe he'll chime in...

I wonder what the going rate was when I bought mine, 6 or 7 years ago(maybe more)? I paid somewhere around $28.00, plus minimal shipping ($4.00 ish?) back then.

Another thought; How do we know that a clone is oh so bad? It seems to me that we only have the word of a seller that "all" clones are bad. Even the Wiki says that the bad clones were of the 1.0 version, because ELM didn't protect it. The Chinese are infamous for copying a product, and my bet is that they're getting pretty good at it. Don't take my comments as condoning this, but if you live on a budget, you do what you gotta do to get what you want. I'd take a chance on a cheapo.

For me .... personally.. its all about the coolness factor of being able to see the difference in
trans temp while I am pulling my Trailer... I was going to buy a trans temp gauge...
but after seeing this I wont.... here is my thoughts on it... it will give me a base line
as to whats happening.. I drive around with out pulling the trailer I have a base line
as to whats going on.. plus RPM.. is a nice feature to have.... hell you already have the
idiot light on the dash and a gauge for fuel ... oil...and water temp... I sure can check to see
if my gauges are close to the reading from that CHEAP ELM327.... again I will have a
base line... I can also set that telimitry to indicate WARNING while its activated.
will it be a 1 tenth of a hundreth correct.. LOL I am not asking it too or expect it too.
I have a very expensive OBDII hand held computer... if I want to check against the
ELM327... which after you bringing this issue up.. I already had it in my mind
I was going to do some comparing.. at the point I have also ordered a OBDII
y harness.. were I can have the ELM327 and my OBDII Scanner at the same time
to compare.. the harness now believe it or not only cost like 4.oo so I might be
sceptical that it might not even work... but I guess for 4.oo we will see.. lol

Except that accuracy lies in you van system. The ELM device just reads the data. There shouldn't be any difference between the two readers.
