Default broken accelator cable

i have a broken (completely severed) accelerator cable in my 1997 express van (5.7) & the gas pedal has gone limp.

i searched the forums here, google, and the internet for hours & have found nothing.

any tips or tricks to replacing the cable?

any info at all?

any advice as to where the cable can be found?

no local auto stores or online parts houses seem to stock this item, maybe the chevy dealer?

please advise

I believe your part is made by Dorman. I have a 1997 Chevy Express 1500 with 5.0 motor and nobody reproduces it. Discontinued at dealer.

The ends of these are different from what I have. The end that connects to the throttle has a plastic end, with a tab that has snapped off. I know that the parts are listed to fit my specific vehicle, but the picture is not accurate to my original.

Thanks for looking this up !
