Default Buying a used express 2500

Hey guys new to the van world. I've been driving my 92 silverado for 11 years now and im getting sick and tired of getting in and out from under the cap so i LOOKING AT buying a used express 2500. so my questions are what should i be looking for on the van when inspecting it. Problems, wear and tear,2500 vs 1500 mileage, year of van (what years hold up better then others). Just looking to get your 2 cents. Thanks to all that respond! btw looking at spending no more then $4000

I am also considering buying a used Express with a budget up to 8k.
I have a 95 G-20, with rust/rot on the outside and underneath, runs great
209,000 miles on it. Common sense would be to sell my van for scrap metal
($400-$500) and buy another van.

Not only would it cost a lot to repair my rust issues but it would be a temporary fix, don't know why I feel guilty letting go of it, I have owned
it for 10 years.

oldblue92: For 4k, you are looking at a 2003 or older depending on mileage
and condition. One issue with the Express vans are the side doors, they tend
to bind up.

they have so many electrical problems its ridiculous. fuel pumps go like hot cakes. they start sputtering and cutting out for no reason. the newer engines have too many sensors. The interior is so old fashion looking. door panels crack on every one. center consoles are junk. Id go with a ford with the v6.
