Front outer brake pad for a 2002 Chevy express 3500 single rear wheel. Seems that the clip on the outside front pads have been changed to a deeper rounder design which does not fit into the slots on the outside of the calipers. Clips were dark in color and now are silver. My front pad has movement when installed. How can this be corrected or what is the secret to installation? Seems all of the suppliers are going to this design.
Are the brakes squealing? Are they actually moving around under use or just by hand?
I haven't messed with brakes with clips like that.
I've used this disc brake quite for a long time and it's done me well. It's like a rubbery glue that you put on the back of the pad where it contacts the caliper. You might be able to put some under the clips too. Be careful if you use it on the inside pad to only use a little because it will get on the piston boot/seal.
