Default Chevy G30 Sportvan Having Issues With The Fuel Pump?

My thought is that my van needs a new fuel pump. I've replaced the fuel filter & the alternator already, so neither should be causing the issues I'm having.

Issues I'm Having:
  • Trouble starting. It does not start right up like it used to.
  • It stalls if I take my foot off the gas
  • It will sometimes stall as I'm driving
  • I have to keep on pumping the gas for it to move
  • Its backfiring a lot
  • When I do finally get going it will decelerate on its own and if I give it gas it kinda bogs down and is hard to go any faster
  • It will shudder sometimes
Everything I've looked up indicates that this maybe a fuel pump issue, but I want to make sure before we drop the tank and try fixing it. I do plan on buying the whole assembly, not just the pump. Any info would be appreciated. TIA!

if you want to make sure, then measure the fuel pressure with a gauge.

Ok I'll ask my mechanic about doing that. Are there any other thoughts on this?

I guess if I had a mechanic doing the work, I would expect them to perform appropriate diagnostics, not throw parts.
What year, what motor ...
