Default Chevy van Express 3500 underhood fusebox

I own a 2007 with 6.0L engine and am remounting the underhood fusebox after locating a broken wire in connector C2. Many publications show the connectors location (see attach) but I am trying to find where the C8 bolt connects to and why the "UY7" refers to. Thanks for any help.

it's a production code meaning the vehicle was assembled with a trailer wiring

All the fuse box connectors should be on the bottom, and they should be labeled

Thanks for your quick answer, Mountainmanjoe, but I cannot see what I had left unconnected! Connectors C-1 to C-7 have been reconnected to the underhood fusebox. Connector C-9 brings +12V to the fusebox from the battery (thru a fusible link) and connector C10 on the other side of the 125 Amp fuse brings the +12V to the body fusebox (under driver's seat). Both C9 and C10 are also reconnected. Since we are talking about towing (I found that UY7 refers to a towing harness kit). This van probably never hauled a charge, since the back of the frame shows no trace that a towing bar has ever been bolted.

So, what remains to be connected to the C8 post on the fusebox? I also noticed that the big fuse #50 (30 A) is for trailering and is absent. Any link between the two? As I refer to the layout I joined to my previous post, C8 seems to be bolted to a fairly short wire and lug with hole for bolting, before entering a multi-wire conduit.

Thanks again
Michel from Canada.

like I said, you didn't attach anything. As you can see, there is nothing there.

what was connected to it before? As far as I know it's nothing. Provisional.

I got my answer very quickly with the VIN. The van was NOT assembled with this trailer wiring. It would have been very noticeable with the outside connector below the rear doors. Therefore, the C8 post of the underhood fusebox does nopt connect to anything.

Thanks again.

Very interesting litterature from GM thru a JustAnswer technician, but nowhere is the C8 post of the underhood fusebox mentioned. I still suppose I don't need to connect anything to it, unless I plan to haul a trailer or camper with its own brake system. All the installations of such that I read about, start from the BODY fuse block.

My van only has a standard 4-wire plug hanging outside at the back (but tucked in the bumper), to transmit lighting, braking and turn signal to the lights on a trailer. This wiring starts at the regular lighting wires that run in the body posts next to the rear doors.

I guess this should end the thread, since connections at C8 are useful only if you have a proper kit installed, UY7 or other.
