Express UD7 Rear Park Assist & UFT Side Blind Zone Alert
Good day All!
I am currently putting together a Build Sheet/Wish List for a New 3500 Extended Express Cargo Van… I’m exploring/shopping the internet for vans with the options that I’m looking for (possible cost savings "?") verses a custom order.
I am finding vans with most but not all the options that I think I may want; so my question is:
Can anyone tell me, would it be possible to have a dealership install the following factory options after I purchase a van?
· UD7 Rear Park Assist_Factory order cost $268.
· UFT Side Blind Zone Alert_Factory order cost $359.
And would it be cost effective to get these options this way?
Thank you

What i'm looking for is not available at one of my local dealerships...long story short... with a little effort you can find these vans on line marked down 10k to 12k below invoice... pending color and options.. Also there are still new 2016's around Motivated seller ??? and if you don't mind a plane ticket or shipping to pick up your new van you can save $$$
I picked a 2017 with 515 miles ... sticker price was 34,000 and I got it for 26,000. I wanted the leather steering wheel with audio controls so I added it and swapped it out myself. I also wanted the chrome grille with composite headlights so I ordered the parts and I will be adding them. I would be interested in backup sensors as well. I also see a connector under the hood that I believe is for the temperature sensor does anybody know ?

Depending on option package, a van will be built with the wiring for other options in it. So adding something like a steering wheel with audio control is just a matter of buying the specific parts and swapping them out.
It also is going to vary with how a particular option works.
I don't know how the newest ones are but for a long time these had two primary driver comfort groups, one gave you power windows and locks and one gave you a tilt wheel and cruise. If you had one or the other of those odds are you had the wiring for both. If you had neither, then it had less wiring. For instance my 2002 which has power windows, locks and mirrors, has the wiring to add cruise control. My other 2002, which was a base work van with no options, does not have that wiring present. You could add the power windows and locks if you could find a wreck to remove the under dash harness that runs from door to door, though. (power locks to the cargo doors was a little more involved, it's hard to remove the full harness individually but one could cut out as much as is accessible and splice as needed to connect under the dash).
In this instance I would guess a van with mid range or premium audio would be equipped to add the steering wheel controls as the previous commenter was able to, by simply swapping on the correct parts. A base van that only has an AM-FM radio may not allow it.
