Question Front Steering? RUBBER FAIL?...Disintergrated?

So I was hitting my Zirc Points and saw that I have this issue. Looks like the rubber bushing that encased this rod, I think it is a steering rod?? Directly under my bumper and back about 16 inches.
Attached pics. Is this an easy fix? I have been hearing a bump every so often. The one on the driver side is crumbling like stale Oreos. Actually Oreos do not last past 24 hours in my house so that is a bad analogy. Falling apart like dried rubber. Any help is appreciated.

It's made of one piece and it's not attached to the steering wheel in any way, so it would be pretty hard to steer with it

It's called a stabilizer bar. It's basically a big spring and it keeps the van from leaning over during turns. The bushings are easy to find and super cheap ($3) on rockauto.com

Start soaking that rusty bolt with some WD-40 or some such thing.

Yeah, I noticed all that metal corrosion too.

OP must live somewhere that they still use road salt in the winter, as thats the only time I have seen metal corrosion get that awful.

Default Easy fix .

It is an easy fix . I have done mine countless times over 20 years . Here in ohio i wish they still used only salt because what ever there useing now is worse . It will eat metal 3 times faster then salt ever did. I brought life time mounts and never had to pay for them again . Good luck and happy motoring .

It looks like someone was trying to lube the bushing, which is bad. Oil breaks down rubber.
