Personally, I would avoid making the fusebox pivot, slide, or move in any way. That's just asking for broken wires. Great care was taken to stabilize wiring throughout the vehicle. The only places with movable wiring, the door harness, is where people experience the most electrical problems.
Scratch that, switches still will not work without connected wires with the doors open. I just have to mount them on the pillars.

How often would you need access to the fuse box? It would have to almost be daily to fatigue the wires. It's not like the wiring is solid core(as opposed to braided). Under the seat is a royal PITA. The one time I needed access, I felt the need to remove the seat, just so I could see. It is in a bad place, but I don't see an alternative.

Thanks for the positive re-encouragement. In a few hours it could all be re-assembled. There is actually less panels off than yours. When you are continually waiting for a part, or changing your mind, it doesn't make sense to put it together.

You should find a happy place for all your audio doo-dads first. Leave the fusebox be for now. I know you'll do what you want anyway, and you should, but that's my two cents.

Anyways, I spent just under $40 today and I ordered the parts to lose circuit board of my latest radio. My fifth radio. When those come between 15 and 60 days from now, I can put the faceplate in, put the dash together and screw around all I want without opening the dash. So that is the route I am headed.
