Was changing my oil the other day on my 2005 Chevy Express with the 5.3, pulled out the drain plug and there was a half fingernail sized piece of hard metal attached. No other pieces or shavings were found in the freshly drained oil after running it through a sieve.

Anybody have an idea as to where this piece shrapnel came from before I start tearing things apart?
