Oh, I know it can be done. I was curious if the stock setup did it. Love the upfitters guide.

I was thinking about this tonight.... I am mad at myself. I had my truck in the dealership when it was new and after I put the Compass Module in, complete with actual factory wiring. I could have had that activated, I even paid for to be. Or at least it was part of the deal in the sale that I swung. They spent an entire day on it. The Mechanic was their Electrical Technician, thier 'Specialist". I know he tried from the way he talked. He pursued every single path. It was just because he was a bit awkward about switching my truck over to an American Model, the way we interacted that made me just end up dismissing it. He was a bit insecure at Detroit telling him "NO". I should have done it. Looking back, I am sure the only thing I would have lost, would have actually have been gains. My Headlamp Switch would have worked the way it was designed. I would actually be able to shut my lights OFF. On setting the DIC to Factory Defaults it would have read in Miles instead of Kilometers, which it does anyways by default. That was a really dumb decision on my part. It was just my mood at the time, they had the truck for so long, it was hot, it was just an impulse decision against my desires to keep the honest hard working mechanic at ease with himself. He was frustrated and felt helpless that GM Corporate Headquarters "wouldn't let him". He even found a way around it all for me, it's just that he was insecure about it. I am not taking my truck back in for a multitude of reasons.

There is another way I found today though. I found people that do not work for GM who have hacked the BCM and they claim they can change and customize a whole slew of things you wouldn't even think of. Not only that, that means they can likely add the currently available (2019) options, including FRONT CAMERA, SIDE IMPACT SENSORS and a few other goodies I found. I'll post the link when I re-find it. In my favour if I want to experiment with this, I have two spare BCM's that I was thinking of selling. I already have two different model radios programmed to my VIN, why not three BCM's?

(Probably includes later model Savana/Express BCM's because we get late updates to components.)

Not cheap. That thread mentions "using your Autocal or Flashscan".
Flashscan- $899.00
Autocal- $1799.00

Thanks. I was hoping someone would read deeper for me. I suspected such.

I blew the dust off my Scangauge and had a little play. Intake temp read 13C. Weather app on smartphone said it was 6C. Intake temp probably isn't super accurate when you're idling with a warm engine. I'll try it again while moving next time.

And the weather app isn't giving you the temp where you are. It's giving you the temp at the nearest reporting weather station.

Which is within a degree or so. Close enough.

I confirmed it today. When the engine is cold, the reading is bang on. Once it warms up, it's too high and fluctuates with speed and throttle.

I remembered today that I had an OBD Bluetooth adapter stashed away. (Ordered it on eBay from China for a couple of bucks about a year ago) So I decided to give it a try and downloaded the Torque lite app. Pretty impressive I must say.

Sure enough, I pulled up a gauge for "Air temp", so I guess I have that sensor, even the van didn't come with any display for it . It's lower than the intake temp, but still higher than outside temp. (but again, this was idling in park). I'll have to poke around with a flashlight and see if I can spot the thermistor. Cool beans.

Hi, we talked about this in Post #19, last month.

Hi, I couldn't find a replacement sensor on my 4.3l, so I'm thinking the Intake Temperature Sensor is part of the MAF sensor.
