Default Rear brake caliper pin placement

I mixed up both sets. One pin is smooth, one pin has two flat edges.

Does the pin with the flat edges go on the leading edge or trailing edge?

Even if I didn't mix up both sets, I am not going to trust the previous work anyway: https://chevroletforum.com/forum/exp...m-tall-121645/

I cannot find any quality parts fiche/diagrams for Chevy. The Chilton manual is next to useless for Chevy too. Would love to learn how to answer these questions on my own, if anyone has tips.

Thanks!

I managed to figure out if you append &dg=1 to the URL to a gmpartsgiant.com part page, it will show an exploded diagram:

https://www.gmpartsgiant.com/parts/g...filter=()&dg=1

But without a key to tell me where 6 goes and where 14 goes, it isn't exactly helpful.

Good find. Bleeder is always on top so the pin with grooves goes on the bottom.

Looking down the bore, it looked like the grooved pins were previously installed on the top

I think you mean the pin with the grooves go on top.

Spot checked the calipers, the bleeders were indeed on top. I previously saw evidence of groove marks on the top bore holes. So I installed the calipers like that
