Default Sudden/occasional coolant leak

Each time I put cardboard underneath to check, it stays dry. But from time to time coolant goes quickly away. Might be the seep hole as the part of the engine below gets wet, but the loss of the water seems to be too fast - like more than a liter during 30 miles trip. Hoses look OK, nothing seems to be loose. From time to time, it just drops as if from seep hole… what could be the culprit? How to troubleshoot it? Where to start, please?

Thanks for the tip. I know A/C is usually tested this way, I did not know it is available for cooling too - do you actually use it.
Anyways, I sort of hoped somebody might know or have experience what the cause would be…

there could be a 100 different causes, which is why you need to diagnose properly. Bad intake gasket and failed water pump are common ones.
