Default Coolant leak! up to the challenge?

I have a 2000 Tahoe 4d 2wd. Over the last year I have had a coolant leak that has progressively gotten worse. There in NO sign of dripping onto the garage floor, no other signs of leaking hoses or radiator leaks, the coolant system holds pressure very well, and no sign of coolant in the oil. Lately I have had to add coolant every 2 weeks!! I can't seem to figure out where all the coolant is going.

Any thoughts or solutions??

thank you

Check the carpet under the glove box... If that's wet/damp, good chance it's the heater core.

Do you have a scent of antifreeze in the truck??

Have you checked the overflow cap?? How about the regular radiator cap??

you can also check the weep hole in the water pump for staining indicating a leak. I've seen these only leak when the engine is running so once off, no puddles under the car.

Those are good places to check. Also check the underside of the truck. GM has a history of leaky manifolds and other than some coolant on the undercarriage it's difficult to spot. I also don't want to be the bearer of bad news but this could be a leaking head gasket. Coolant gets into the cylinder and burns up in the engine. Gonna need a pressure test to check that.

See attached....
There appears to be a recallbecause ofa leak of coolant into the combustion chamber
on certain 5.3L engines...

Sounds like that same symptoms you are having...

Fix is that they may have to replace the head....

I saw that too (2wd) on the top of the bulletin, but you better check your engine code to be sure....
