Default Ticking type noise started

2016 express 2500 6.0
160k miles
no check engine lights
sound seems more pronounced on cold starts but never goes away, pretty sure I have a exhaust leak at the y pipe as well. Van runs fine, nothing seems out of normal operation.
any help is appreciated

If the ticking noise tends to fade as the engine warm up then yes it is typically an exhaust leak and more likely an exhaust manifold leak/crack.
As the metal expand with the heat then the gap that allow the air to leak is reduced in size.

Here is a video that can be useful to help you in finding the location of a leak:
Note: Never do this on a hot engine.

A smoke machine can also be used if you have acces to one.

Also here is one of the solutions in case you have a broken manifold bolt : https://www.dormanproducts.com/gsear...pair%2520Clamp

Good luck !
