I would like to get a oem fuel pump but I'm sure it's going to cost like $300 but if it fixes the issue....is dropping the tank really that bad?? It looks like it's only held in by two straps.

Is the tank empty? They are heavy if full and my luck it's always full. Can you syphon it out? I've had bad luck with that too. Are the fuel filler hoses still soft or do they feel like hard plastic? If there are special bends it can be hard to find and expensive. If straight...it's just expensive...just about priced by the inch not foot. It isn't impossible but the last fuel pump I did I took the bed off rather than drop the tank.

$170. Not too bad. If you go cheap the hole in the floor will make it easier to swap out again in 50,000 miles

I thought about using a heavy duty jack and some cinder blocks on each end of the tank to keep it level when lowering it. The tank is only about quarter full...but I can see where the problems could come in at, because the tank is like 4 feet long maybe longer. I'm contemplating cutting the hole in the floor just not a fan of it.

Double check the part number. I made some guesses to get there.
