Went to put in new axle shafts. Didn't get to finish. Everything (and I mean everything) online swears up and down that the 93 G20 uses a 30 spline shaft. Nope, the ones I pulled out are 28 splines. The last model to use that setup was the 88 model. Didn't get to finish the job and had to seal it back up. At least the right parts are on order now.
Washed the van. Scrubbed the mildew out of all the nooks and crannies. While I was getting it wet with the hose, the paint under the gutter started coming off in flakes.

If you're thinking about applying a coating to your undercarriage... don't. This is what happens.
I was hosing off the frame, and the coating was coming off in big chunks. Underneath it was trapped all the garbage from the road: dirt, salt, and moisture. Essentially, speeding up the rusting process. Thanks PO.
Finally got the right axles in. Nearly crapped myself when the pin that slides between the axle ends wouldn't go. Pulled from the outside and to ensure they were fully seated and all went well. Was also due for an oil change and decided to add Lucas oil stabilizer for 75k+, will update if it causes any issues or slows consumption as the bottle claims.
The replacement came from Amazon (23 USD) the other day so I decided to put it in today. ...The new handle. Make sure the gasket is adhered properly and straight. I had to add a piece to fill a gap.
I don't recommend buying these replacement door handles.
"While the OEM handle that was originally installed lasted 3 years this one only lasted 1 year.
"2nd, 3rd replacement? I lost count. They seem to *all* be made only so-so."
"It does not always open the door and takes sometimes more than one pull. The pulls to open door flex this handle noticeably and I can tell it is not going to last long. "
"fits our vehicle appropriately. But did not last longer than 6 months"
"Broke after 1 year cheap "
I think it's a crappy GM design. Everything about the door feels really janky and low quality. Just another sign of GM fit & finish going down the crapper.
Headlight burned out. I replaced it only 2 years ago, during which I ran up 280 engine hours and 6,200 mi, and I hardly ever drive at night.
