All you had to do was take the lid off and look. All vehicles have at least one main under-hood fuse box, and one inside the cabin somewhere. It's also in the owner's manual.

I simply didn’t want to mess with it until I knew more.

I also don’t have owner manual, as I recently bought this 15 year old van.

I can also tell you that you can safely take the lid off and peek inside anything in your van.
