Default Starter doesn't crank when damp out

2011 Silverado WT I can't get the starter to even crank if damp out. Had to hit starter with heat gun to get it to start. Any ideas for permanent fix?

Sounds like it's time for a new starter.

i would chevy the connections at the starter. maybe even see if theyre getting power when you try to start it. if theyre getting power and if cleaning them does nothing i would then replace the starter but the issue might be somewhere else
