1990 Silverado fuel gauge reads wrong all the time
1990 P/U just recently started this. It shows almost full of gas even though I only put in about 5-6 gallons. How hard is it to replace, or reset the fuel sensor?? Or is this something that just needs to be replaced??

Does the gauge move at all? if you disconnect the wiring harness at the fuel tank with the key on the gauge bar should move,if it does mostly the sender in the tank is toast.
One to check is to ground the sender wire to the frame the bar on the gauge should read past full, when not grounded it should read zero,if it does for sure the sender in the tank is shot.
