Default 1994 350 tbi bogging when accelerating

i have a 1994 gmc sierra 1500 with a 350 v8 tbi. Recently it has started bogging during acceleration, typically when at low rpms. If I really lay down on the throttle it will die or at least come close to it. Most times when it happens there is a popping noise that comes from the motor, not a backfire, almost sounds like hitting a piece of sheet metal with a hammer. its not the intake manifold, only thing that I can notice is there is now a clicking noise coming from my tbi. Any suggestions?

Cover the basics. Sounds a lot like a vacuum leak. Check all the hoses, and even hook up a vacuum gauge if you've got one to see if you are losing vacuum during accelleration.

Check the distributor and rotor carefully (vacuum advance hooked up?) for cracks, carbon tracking, corrosion on the contacts or bad timing.

May want to check your EGR valve as well.
