I ran my 1996 lumina out of gas, I have put gas in it but it will not start, i can saturate a cloth and put in the intake and it will start. After that gas is burned up the car dies. it is V-6 fuel injected!

how much gas did you put in the tank..

 

Fuel pump may have burned up or the filter maybe restricted.

 

i have put about 5 or 6 gallons of gas in the fuel tank. Car still will not pick up the gas. Checked all fuses yesterday afternoon. How can I check the fuel pump and where is it located?

that should be enough to pick up, some people just don't put enough in the tank...check if there is a fuel pump relay. you can swap it out with the AC relay to check if good. the pump is in the tank i believe..
