recently traded and got a GMC Saffari minivan..........i haven't really got to look into the problem too
much yet , just trying to get an idea . Starts and idles fine. when you rev up the engine it sounds like
a whirlwind of air sucking . My question is since there is minimal room under hood and doghouse
if someone could give me a general idea what it could be ????? Thankz in advance chevymandan

 

has the filter been replaced with a high flow filter with an open element? made a highflow for my last blazer and you could see the hood getting sucked down when i floored it.

 

My guess with the information you gave, is that you have a vaccum leak. Check all the connections to and from the air filter back to the engine. Tighten them all, that should fix the problem if its a vaccume leak.
